EU-Russia cooperation for Climate and Energy Security

The first joint meeting of the EU-Russia Working groups on energy efficiency and climate change took place in Moscow
on February 28 with assistance of REEEP. Previously the issues of energy efficiency and climate change were coordinated separately by EU-Russia Dialogue on Environment and Energy Dialogue.

It was the first project call for the RS for Russia and FSU, and the largest funding round in REEEP’s three year history.

REEEP Disburses ?2.2 million Euro for 32 New Clean Energy Projects

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) today announced 32 new projects for funding.  The funding round, REEEP’s fourth, represented the largest funding round in REEEP’s three year history.

Overcoming Barriers to Residential Energy Efficiency in Central and Eastern Europe

Kiev, Ukraine - The workshop "Removing Barriers to Residential Energy Efficiency in Central and Eastern Europe" that is due to take place on February 6, 7th, 2006 aims to increase awareness of local and national governments throughout Central and Eastern Europe about the need to formulate and enable effective policies that promote the development and implementation of residential energy efficiency, especially for multifamily buildings with vulnerable households.

The RREC participated as a regional secretariat in the meetings in Vienna and attended the monitoring and evaluation workshop, meeting of the regional secretariat and meeting of the program board.

Thanks to the UK Government we now have 3 million euros available for projects, events, partnerships and strategic regional programmes. The deadline for submitting one-page concept documents for new project proposals is Friday December 9th, 2005.
